The Medal of Honor Values
Awarded by the President, in the name of Congress, the Medal of Honor commemorates those who have shaped our nation’s history and continue to inspire its future with their acts of valor, humanity, patriotism, and sacrifice.
Over 40 million Americans who have served in the US Armed Forces since the Civil War. Fewer than 4,000 have been awarded the Medal of Honor.

Integrity
To be honest and uphold strong ethical standards, acting with honor even when unobserved.
Commitment
To dedicate oneself to service, upholding obligations and promises, whether in war or peace.
Citizenship
To engage with one's community and country, contributing to the collective good and responsibility.
Patriotism
To show love and devotion to one's country, working to preserve and enhance its freedoms and well-being.
About the MoH Museum
The National Medal of Honor Museum was born in 2018 after Mike was asked for advice by a friend. That conversation blossomed into a vision for something that didn't yet exist. Mike, as the founding board member, worked to bring it to life, setting in motion the "Mission to Inspire America."
The Museum was built to honor and venerate the Medal of Honor recipients by amplifying their stories and the six values behind the Medal. In doing so, those values, principles, and sense of purpose can be brought to Americans across the country.
